Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
We are pleased to host another Canada Music Week Festival. This year we are so lucky to have the very engaging composer and music educator John Burge from Kingston, Ontario. Here is the link to the registration form which is due by 11:59pm on Oct 20th, 2026.
Please send e-transfers to [email protected] by this date and time as well – fees are listed on the form by level. Late submissions will not be accepted.
The festival will take place at Siloam United Church on November 20th, 21st and if needed 22nd. We are shifting to more of a masterclass format where the students will not receive written feedback but will work more with the composer at the piano. Because this is an early in the year performance goal, we encourage students to take part with music that is more “in progress” if they do not have anything polished for November. This way, students will gain interesting pointers that they can use to move forward with their pieces.
Students may choose one or two pieces. One must be Canadian and this is the one that the student will receive feedback on. The second piece is for additional performance practice, if they so choose. If the student is playing two Canadian pieces, please list the one they would like to receive feedback on first.
Students will again receive a book by a Canadian composer for taking part. This year, teachers will have a chance to help select a book for their students as they know more about their musical interests. More information on this will be sent to the teachers as registrations start coming in.
We look forward to seeing everyone again and hopefully some new faces this year!
Kind Regards,
