It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of fellow colleague and Past President of ORMTA, Kathy Schmidt. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.

And that’s a wrap, as we approach 100 entries! Wow! Thanks to all the teachers from near and far who submitted their students. Most of all, thanks to the performers for all their hard work! Stay tuned for awards which will be announced next week.

We are very excited to announce that we will be running a Virtual Music Festival for our students leading up to Canada Music Week this year.

Entries will be due November 19th, 2020. We are hoping that this will be a great opportunity for students to explore Canadian music as well as work towards a special performance opportunity.

We are pleased to announce that Lynette Sawatsky and Francine Regaudie-McIsaac have agreed to adjudicate for us.

Entry fees: (2 pieces per entry; one piece must be by a Canadian composer, the other may be by a non-Canadian composer).
Beginner to PrepB- $10
Level 1 to 3 $15
Level 4 to 6 $20
Level 7 to 8 $25
Level 9 and up $30
* An additional fee of $5 per entry for students of non-ORMTA members. Own compositions are also allowed to be submitted, and memorization is not required

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with members of the Festival Committee with any questions.
